Registering a change in the particulars of a registered newspaper

Introduction

Changes to the particulars of the Statutory Declaration filed pursuant to section 3 of the Newspapers Act, Chapter 20:01(“the Act”).

Whenever any proprietor, printer or publisher named in the statutory declaration is changed or changes his place of abode, printing house or office, and as often as the title of the newspaper is changed, the publisher shall complete and submit the following:

  • A new Statutory Declaration ( which must include all the particulars required by section 4 of the Act)
  • Registration Fee: $50.00

Changing the Name of a Newspaper

You must first obtain the approval of the Registrar to the proposed change of name

Please submit the following:

  • Letter requesting approval to the change the name of the newspaper

    Once the name has been approved and reserved (a name is reserved for 90 days), you must register the change of name by completing and submitting the following:

    • Letter of the Registrar approving the change of name.
    • A new Statutory Declaration ( which must include all the particulars required by section 4 of the Act)
    • Fees : $50.00
